| Q: After running update on NOTION, the program no longer recognizes my iLok. NOTION will not open and none of the sound kits will load.
A: Go to: http://www.paceap.com/dldrvr.html and download the drivers for your operating system. Once you download the drivers, they will be in a zipped folder. Right-click on the folder and choose Extract all. Click the Next button to extract the contents of the folder to a new folder on your desktop. Next, double-click the folder, and then double-click the setup.exe file in the folder. After running the Interlok driver setup, make sure to reboot your machine. If the "Found New Hardware" wizard comes up after you reboot, complete the wizard to install the iLok. NOTION and any sound kits should now open for you.
Q: When I try to open PROTÉGÉ I get a TPKD file is missing error.

Q: When I try to open NOTION on my Mac my whole computer crashes.
A: Go to: http://www.paceap.com/dldrvr.html and download the extensions for your operating system. Once you have downloaded the extensions from Pace, double-click the downloaded file to install the extensions. Then reboot your machine. You should now be able to open NOTION.
Q: When I try to install NOTION 2.0 or PROTÉGÉ 2.0 on my computer running Windows Vista the DVD seems to hang. If I leave it there for a few minutes the splash screen finally comes up.
A: Since Windows Vista has to copy all of the files off of the DVD before beginning the install it can take some time before you see the splash screen. Windows Vista copies files slower than Windows XP. If you are experiencing problems installing NOTION or PROTÉGÉ on a Vista machine, please read and follow our Vista install instructions which can be found on our support page. The links for the Vista install are highlighted in red.
Q: When I try to play back a file certain instruments will not play.
A: In NOTION or PROTÉGÉ, go to Playback>Audio Mixer and make sure that none of the instruments are muted and check the volume settings. Also make sure to check the volume bars at the top right-hand corner of the program, next to the NTempo button.
Q: I am attempting to start a new file. I have added all of my instruments and have armed my cursor with a note. Why am I unable to enter any notes into my file.
A: The first thing that you must enter into a new file is the time signature. Neither NOTION nor PROTÉGÉ will allow you to enter a note into a file without first adding a time signature.
Q: When I click on the NOTION or PROTÉGÉ icon in the dock on my Mac the icon just bounces and the program will not open.
A: Go to www.apple.com and download the latest combo update for your Mac. If you have already updated your Mac to the latest combo update than run the update again.
Q: I just purchased NOTION and was wondering if I would be able to use my MIDI keyboard to enter in notation.
A: Yes, you can use a MIDI controller to enter notation into NOTION or PROTÉGÉ by going to Edit>MIDI Input>Choose MIDI Input Device and selecting your MIDI controller.
Q: How do I get PROTÉGÉ or NOTION to print out all of the instruments on one page?
A: Go to File>Page Setup and click on the tab that says file Fonts. Highlight Notation and symbols and change the drop-down box at the bottom to 5. You may also want to change the font size for the Instrument names so that they don't run off the page.
